Net Wall Games

Today we were in the gym and covered net/wall games. We identified the main principles and strategies of these types of games, and then tried them out.

The first game we played emphasized the depth of the court. We tried to move our opponent forward and backward on the court.

The second game we played focused on the width of the court. In both games, we were required to return to "base". A spot on the court that prepared us for the next play.

The final game we played was "Nukem". Duke Nukem Volleyball (10-24 people). This is another game that requires a partition. Set up a rectangle with the partition down the middle, and ensure that each team cannot see each other. The game is a version of volleyball. The aim is to get the ball to hit the ground in the opposite teams half. Each team can throw it between themselves no more than 3 times, before throwing it over the other side. The team with the most points at the end wins. This is a great game as the element of surprise when a ball is thrown over is something quite different to most games played.
